About The Event
Facilitated by David Harold (he/him)
Peaceable Arts is a body mind spirit practice distilled from Taiji, Qigong, and other wisdom traditions. Â We practice to embody peace in ourselves, radiate it into our relationships, and skillfully build a more peaceable world. Â Paradoxically, this often involves wisdom from the martial traditions, seen through a peacebuilding lens.
Peaceable Arts Walking Meditation is a foundational practice of Peaceable Arts. We build on our natural walking pattern to deeply explore key principles of relaxation, grounding, and body awareness, without having to learn brand new movement patterns. From the most basic walk we add more complex patterns of giving and receiving energy, stepping backwards and to the side, and building the energy sphere. Most practitioners find this practice both calming and energizing, and full of endless possibility.
Weather permitting, we will be practicing outside part of the time. Please wear comfortable seasonally appropriate clothing. These practices are suitable for all ages and levels of fitness. Please pace yourself and feel free to sit if needed. Some practice will be done with a partner. We ask that you mask when doing close quarters partner work.Â
