About The Event
Facilitated by David Harold (he/him)
Our culture often confuses power with hardness and domination; however, we can build a soft power that relies on awareness and respect for the other. Soft and gentle power has many advantages. It is more conducive to building partnership and solid relationships even when there is conflict. Hard power, on the other hand, creates pushback, unequal relationships, and distancing.
If we're going to build a more peaceful, relational world together we need to cultivate power that is soft, mutual, and strong enough to make our way in a world so often ruled by domination.
This workshop will use individual and partner practices developed from Taiji to nurture each other's power and softness. Come join us for a playful and profound morning.
Weather permitting, we will be practicing outside part of the time. Â Please wear comfortable seasonally appropriate clothing. These practices are suitable for all ages and levels of fitness. Â Please pace yourself and feel free to sit if needed. Some practice will be done with a partner. Â We ask that you mask when doing close quarters partner work.Â
Suggested Donation $50. Â All proceeds will be split to benefit equally 18 Springs and City with Dwellings, a local homeless services organization.
