About The Event

Created and Facilitated by Ouida Patten

After a recent meditation an exciting idea came forth: I would love to share with you my daily practice of using herbal teas to enhance my health (my life).

Navigating this third year of pandemic life, we are presented with personal and collective challenges. The complexities and emotions we are dealing with compound daily. It's a great time to foster supportive practices that help move us towards balance. I would like to share with you my favorite herbal teas that work as calmative agents. As I learn more about our nervous systems and plants/herbs, it is amazing to realize that nature provides exactly what we need to soothe and nourish ourselves.

In this offering, we will gather to enjoy tea time together! I, along with Elisha Covington, will share information on each herb, and hold space for your questions/sharing and intention setting for self-care. This first gathering will take place on Saturday, May 14, 2022 from 5-6:30 pm at 18 Springs Community Health Center, located at 2424 Reynolda Rd. It will be an in person gathering with limited spots available. Your self-investment is $20.

This offering is not intended to diagnose, cure, or treat any illness. It is intended to provide information, and to share my experiences with the herbs. I encourage you to do your own research, listen to your body and make decisions from that place.

If you are new to using herbs in ways other than cooking, are curious, or are seeking a healing community- join me on 5/14/2022.

This quotes reminds me of the type of community I see myself in, and aim to co-create:

"May each of us live our lives with open hearts and with outstretched hands. May we care for our neighbors as we care for ourselves. May our intentions be the gateway to true compassion, to heartfelt prayer and to generous community".
